Fake “News”week Headline
“Oklahoma Reports Highest Ever Daily COVID-19 Cases After Trump Tulsa Rally”
This is what “fake news” looks like and why the public gets pissed off over the constant political slant on absolutely everything. The liberal publications are the worst about doing this, but the conservative publications do the same thing.
Read the headline literally, and it’s indeed a fact. But clearly, this was written in a way that leads the reader into assuming that the Trump Rally brought this spike to Oklahoma.
Oklahoma did report their highest positive case results the day after Trump happened to hold a Rally in Tulsa. OK, what’s your point?
The increase in positive COVID-19 cases and the Trump Rally are not related at all.
Even if there’s an increase from the Trump Rally, that would not be evident for a few weeks.
However, any increases right now could indeed be “contact traced” back to the ongoing protests and rioting that’s been going on for over 3 weeks now. Do you see that possibility being mentioned in many lamestream media publications? I doubt it.
Then, clear as day in the article itself, we have another jab at it.
“The latest spike was seen a day after President Donald Trump’s rally was held Saturday in Tulsa”.
And there you have it.
The Boston Globe’s Political Slant
First, notice the angry-looking Trump Rally image used as well, taken by New York Times photographer. Coincidence? I think not.
Then take a look at the Boston Globe’s headline of an AP wire story that you can probably find regurgitated in other propaganda machines across the country.
“WHO reports largest single-day increase in coronavirus cases; Oklahoma sees new daily record”
Overall, the story is a jab at the Trump administration and bring their ongoing spat with the World Health Organization (WHO) into the fold.
And yes, again we see two separate “stories” without a common thread beyond their political agenda that they’ve decided to tie together. But even though it’s not cohesive, how many people will probably read past the headline and see past the photo? Probably not many, so they can throw any dribble they want in there.
The aggregate COVID-19 data from Johns Hopkins University (JHU) doesn’t fit their narrative for a few reasons, so then they go with whatever WHO says. When JHU fits their media spin, you’ll see that one used again.
Here are the new daily positive COVID-19 JHU charts as of June 21, 2020. See for yourself what the numbers look like.
Here are the actual GLOBAL daily COVID-19 numbers for the past week:
- June 14: 133.8k
- June 15: 121.8k
- June 16: 139.5k
- June 17: 176.0k
- June 18: 139.0k
- June 19: 176.0k
- June 20: 127.0k
- June 21: 160.6k
Here are the actual United States daily COVID-19 numbers for the past week:
- June 14: 19.8k
- June 15: 19.7k
- June 16: 23.7k
- June 17: 25.6k
- June 18: 27.8k
- June 19: 31.6k
- June 20: 32.5k
- June 21: 24.8k
Maybe they’re just bad at basic math, I don’t know.
The Truth of It – What Does COVID-19 Look Like in Oklahoma?
Let’s step back from the political mischief and look at Oklahoma’s positive COVID-19 case counts. Because that’s what we’re supposed to be concerned about here, right?
This should be a surprise to absolutely no one for two reasons.
More Testing = More Positives
First, there’s more testing. More tests, more positive results.
Why is that you ask?
The virus hasn’t gone anywhere even though the lamestream media wants you to believe that the virus took a month off so people could commit felonies in the streets. We’re still in “Wave 1”. Based on history, which they’re trying to erase, you’ll know when “Wave 2” hits. Trust me. And you know what they say about erasing history. That’s right. You’re doomed to repeat it.
And while looking at numbers, here are the COVID-19 death counts in Oklahoma.
As you’ll notice, there’s currently NOT a spike in deaths. That could be for a number of reasons, so take that for what it is. But this is the number, along with the hospital capacity stats, that should be of the most concern. Not solely the number of people who tested positive for COVID-19.
Oklahoma Started Reopening April 24, 2020
The second reason that no one should be surprised by an increase in Oklahoma is that Oklahoma began reopening on April 24th. TWO MONTHS AGO!!!
(Here’s the PDF of their plan as of June 22, 2020.)
The timeline breaks down as follows.
- PHASE 1: April 24, 2020 / May 1, 2020
- PHASE 2: May 15, 2020
- PHASE 3: June 1, 2020
There is no “Phase 4” listed.
We’ve been told, and we should instinctively know, that as we come out of hiding, yes, positive cases are going to increase. Because the virus is still here! We’re still in the midst of “Wave 1”! And in reality, we’ve probably just extended “Wave 1” by being holed up for months.
Trust No One in The Agenda Based Media
What we should take away from this comes right out of the X-Files Playbook.
Trust no one in mainstream media.
Investigate things yourself.
Find the truth, don’t be fed the lies.
