Vigo County, Ind. – February 28, 2025, at approximately 6:40 a.m., troopers from the Indiana State Police Putnamville Post responded to a single-vehicle crash on State Road 63 at Durkees Ferry Road.
The preliminary crash investigation by Master Trooper Brian Thomas revealed that Garrick Busenbark, age 19, of Terre Haute, Indiana, was driving a 2013 KIA southbound on State Road 63 near Durkees Ferry Road. According to witnesses, Busenbark was traveling at a high rate of speed and, for an unknown reason, his vehicle left the roadway. Upon leaving the roadway, the car rolled onto the driver’s side and slid for approximately 20 feet, eventually stopping.
Garrick was transported to a hospital in Indianapolis via Lifeline.
Trooper Thomas was assisted at the crash scene by Vigo County Deputies, the Fayette Volunteer Fire Department, the Indiana State University Police Department, Trans Care, Lifeline IU, and Jake’s Wrecker Service.
