NHTSA: New Flyer Transit Bus Recall

The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) is alerting transit agencies that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) issued a recall notification on February 3, 2025, regarding certain New Flyer of America, Inc. (New Flyer) transit buses equipped with Cummins L9 diesel engines. The remote fuel filter hoses may separate from the fitting, causing a fuel leak, increasing the risk of a fire, and an engine stall, increasing the risk of a crash.

The recall affects approximately five New Flyer bus designs built in 2023 and 2024.

Cummins will replace the fuel hoses, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed by March 11, 2025.
