<p><strong class="">Washington, D.C.</strong> – Congressman <strong class="">Jim Baird</strong> (IN-04) has introduced the Hemp Planting Predictability Act to extend by two years a provision restricting the definition of legal hemp, originally passed in the FY2026 Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agency Appropriations bill. He was joined by Representatives <strong class="">James Comer</strong> (KY-01), <strong class="">Angie Craig</strong> (MN-02), <strong class="">Tim Moore</strong> (NC-14), and <strong class="">Gabe Evans</strong> (CO-08) in the effort.</p>



<p>The legislation aims to provide farmers with more time to adjust to recent regulatory changes affecting hemp production, which disrupted pre-existing planting decisions made under earlier guidelines established by the 2018 Farm Bill. Several lawmakers emphasized the need for a stable environment and a clear regulatory framework for the growing industry, citing negative impacts on businesses in states like Minnesota and Colorado.</p>

<p>The <strong class="">Indiana State Police</strong> have announced a partnership with the <strong class="">Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA)</strong> to participate in CVSA’s annual Human Trafficking Awareness Initiative, January 12-16, 2026. The initiative focuses on leveraging commercial motor vehicle drivers to identify potential human trafficking situations.</p>



<p>During the initiative, <strong class="">ISP’s Commercial Vehicle Enforcement (CVE) units</strong> will engage with CMV drivers during routine roadside inspections. These interactions include distributing informational materials from <strong class="">Truckers Against Trafficking (TAT)</strong>. CVSA&#8217;s Human Trafficking Awareness Initiative is being conducted across North America: the United States, January 12-16, 2026; Canada, February 23-27, 2026; and Mexico, March 16-20, 2026.</p>



<p>According to the United Nations, human trafficking involves the recruitment, transportation, transfer, harboring, or receipt of people through force, fraud, or deception for exploitation.</p>



<p>The <strong class="">CVSA</strong> notes that commercial motor vehicle drivers are often in locations where human trafficking may occur, including truck stops and rest areas. Over 40% of reported human trafficking cases involving victims identified by truck drivers have involved minors.</p>



<p>The Human Trafficking Awareness Initiative is a component of CVSA’s broader Human Trafficking Prevention Program, which seeks to reduce trafficking through coordinated enforcement, investigation, and awareness measures within the commercial motor vehicle industry. <strong class="">CVSA</strong> collaborates with <strong class=""><a href="https://tatnonprofit.org/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">TAT</a></strong> to engage and educate the trucking sector. Approximately 2.5 million professionals in the trucking industry have received training from TAT.</p>

<p><strong>WASHINGTON</strong> – The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) today executed a Consent Order and Agreement with Sunoco Pipeline, L.P., directing the operator to take or continue specific corrective actions following PHMSA’s investigation into a jet fuel leak on the Twin Oaks Pipeline in January 2025. The Consent Order’s requirements apply to the entire 105-mile pipeline system to ensure that the conditions leading to the leak do not exist anywhere else, and the line can continue to operate safely.</p>



<p><em>“Safety is PHMSA’s top priority, and leaks – while rare – should not go unnoticed on a well-maintained pipeline,”</em> said PHMSA Acting Administrator Ben Kochman. <em>“Our investigation is ongoing, and multiple subject matter experts from our accident investigation and inspection teams are working to ensure we understand what went wrong and the necessary corrective actions are in place to ensure that this community will not experience a disruption like this again. PHMSA remains committed to keeping the community informed as the conditions of the agreement are met and our investigation progresses.&#8221;</em></p>



<p>Consistent with the results of PHMSA’s preliminary investigation, Sunoco is required to verify the integrity of every Type A sleeve installed on the Twin Oaks Pipeline. The sleeves were used to reinforce prior repairs to the pipeline, including at the location in Upper Makefield Township where the leak occurred. Sunoco must submit to PHMSA a comprehensive plan for identifying, evaluating, and removing any Type-A sleeves whose integrity cannot be assured, as well as a technical justification for any Type-A sleeves that remain on the line and a plan to implement additional integrity management measures to minimize any risks associated with their continued use.</p>



<p>In addition, Sunoco is required to maintain a 20 percent operating pressure reduction on the pipeline that has been in place since the investigation. This reduction may not be lifted without PHMSA’s written approval. Sunoco must also complete and submit to PHMSA the results of mechanical and metallurgical testing, as well as a root cause failure analysis. Furthermore, Sunoco is required to evaluate and improve the effectiveness and capabilities of its leak detection system to ensure that any future leaks of this nature are identified immediately.</p>

<p>Recent reports in the media that Social Security plans to eliminate telephone services are inaccurate. SSA is increasing its protection for America’s seniors and other beneficiaries by eliminating the risk of fraud associated with changing bank account information by telephone.</p>



<p>SSA continuously investigates and analyzes potential threats to strengthen and secure our programs and protect people who receive benefits. Approximately 40 percent of Social Security direct deposit fraud is associated with someone calling SSA to change direct deposit bank information. SSA&#8217;s current protocol of simply asking identifying questions by telephone is no longer enough to prevent fraud.</p>



<p>If someone needs to change their bank account information on SSA&#8217;s record, they will need to either:</p>



<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>Use two-factor authentication with SSA&#8217;s &#8220;my Social Security&#8221; service; or</li>



<li>Visit a local Social Security office to prove their identity.</li>
</ul>



<p>These methods align with most major banks.</p>



<p>All other SSA telephone services remain unchanged.</p>

<p>In other words, you cannot change your bank account information without making a phone call. All other telephone services remain as they were.</p>

<p>Congressman Jim Baird (IN-04)&nbsp;released the following statement&nbsp;regarding the vote on H.R. 1968, the&nbsp;<em>Full-Year Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act of 2025</em>:</p>

<p>While this bill is not perfect, I voted for this Continuing Resolution (CR) because it freezes spending levels, prevents a costly shutdown, and ensures critical programs and services such as Medicare, Social Security, and Veterans’ benefits can continue without disruption. This CR provides Congress and President Trump with a path to focus on delivering real results for Hoosier families, including historic tax cuts, securing our borders, and rooting out waste, fraud, and abuse in our federal agencies. <p>In another move to stick it to potential airline passengers, Southwest Airlines has joined the ever-growing list of airlines charging for checked baggage. The cattle-call herding airline is quickly losing its appeal over other carriers who at least don&#8217;t make you fight other passengers to find an available seat. There&#8217;s no word if they&#8217;ll cease overbooking flights.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Elliott Investment Management Strikes Again</h2>



<p>So why the sudden shift from promoting &#8220;Bags Fly Free&#8221;, to screwing loyal customers over? That&#8217;s an easy one named &#8220;Elliott Investment Management&#8221;.</p>



<p>Elliott Investment Management is an &#8220;activist&#8221; shareholder who bought a $1.9 BILLION stake in Southwest Airlines in June 2024. </p>



<p>Anyone familiar with Elliott&#8217;s body of work can tell you that they&#8217;re vultures, seeking out seemingly dying companies and sucking out what little life they may have left (aka &#8220;extracting value&#8221; for shareholders).</p>



<p>A recent such example would be their 2015 stake in Cabela&#8217;s which ended up forcing a sale to Bass Pro Shops in 2017 in order to line Cabela&#8217;s shareholders&#8217; pockets.</p>



<p>Occasionally, Elliott does manage to turn a company around, but if they can&#8217;t manage to do it fairly quickly, you better watch out, things will likely be going from bad to worse. TBD if Southwest Airlines is still around five years from now spreading the &#8220;LUV&#8221;.</p>

<p>Today we announced updates to some of our policies and benefits within our fare bundles. Sharing them with you is important to us, as we’re working to offer you more choices to create travel experiences that fit your needs.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Updates to Checked Baggage Policy</h3>



<p>We will offer two free checked bags to Rapid Rewards® A-List Preferred Members and Customers traveling on Business Select fares. We will also offer one free checked bag to A-List Members and other select Customers. In addition, Southwest will credit one checked bag for Rapid Rewards Credit Cardmembers. All remaining Customers will pay to check their first and second bags, and we will continue to charge for the third and fourth checked bags. Changes will apply to flights booked on or after May 28.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Updates to Our Fare Bundles</h3>



<p>We&#8217;re updating the benefits of our fares bundles in phases. Whether you’re looking for a lower price with fewer perks, or more benefits for added flexibility, you’ll have the choice to pick what works best for your trip.</p>



<p><strong>Phase 1:</strong>&nbsp;Beginning this month, we increased our Rapid Rewards earn ratio on our Business Select fares and lowered the earn ratio on our Wanna Get Away® and Wanna Get Away Plus<img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/17.0.2/72x72/2122.png" alt="™" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /> fares. We will also begin to vary our redemption rates across our fare products on some high- and low-demand travel periods.</p>



<p><strong>Phase 2:</strong>&nbsp;Beginning May 28, we will introduce a new Basic fare. This new Basic fare will be our lowest price point and will have less flexibility than other fares. Additionally, we will be adding expiration dates to our Flight Credits, which will vary based on which fare you choose to purchase.</p>



<p>The chart below gives you a full picture of the revised fare products as of May 28, 2025, ranging from most flexible to value-first.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">The Fine Print</h3>



<p>Terms and Conditions:</p>



<p><strong>1 Basic Fare</strong><br><br>Basic fares are nonrefundable and non-changeable except as allowed by our 24 hour cancellation policy. Customers may be eligible for a flight credit if canceled at least 10 minutes prior to the flight&#8217;s original departure time.</p>



<p><strong>2 Checked bag</strong></p>



<p>Effective May 28, 2025, bag fees will apply to Basic, Wanna Get Away Plus® and Anytime fares traveling on or after May 28, 2025. Business Select® will continue to receive to two free checked bags. Weight and size limits apply. A golf bag or skis in a container acceptable to Southwest® can be substituted for one checked bag.</p>



<p><strong>3 Rapid Rewards points</strong></p>



<p>Points can be earned from (a) Qualifying Flights (defined below) operated by Southwest, or (b) through qualifying purchases with our Rapid Rewards partners. For flights completed on or before 2:59 AM Central Standard Time (“CST”) on 1/1/25, “Qualifying Flights” include flights operated by Southwest Airlines® and paid entirely with dollars, Southwest LUV Vouchers®, gift cards, or flight credits and with no portion of the purchase price paid with Rapid Rewards points or Rapid Rewards Business points. For flights completed on or after 3:00 AM CST on 1/1/25, “Qualifying Flights” include flights operated by Southwest Airlines® and paid entirely with dollars, Southwest LUV Vouchers, gift cards, or flight credits and those paid with Cash + Points. NOTE: With a Cash + Points booking, points are earned only on the portion of the base fare that is paid with dollars. Qualifying Flights exclude reward flights, charter flights, nonrevenue travel, and Companion Pass® travel. All Rapid Rewards rules and regulations apply and can be found at Southwest.com/rrterms.</p>



<p><strong>4 Flight Credits</strong></p>



<p>Flight credits will be issued as long as the flight is canceled at least 10 minutes prior to the scheduled departure. For travel booked with Rapid Rewards points for Basic or Wanna Get Away Plus® reward travel reservations if you do not cancel your reservation at least 10 minutes before the flight’s original scheduled departure time, any points used for booking will be forfeited, along with any taxes and fees associated with your reward travel reservation.</p>



<p><strong>5 Transferable Flight Credit</strong></p>



<p>Effective May 28, 2025, a Transferable Flight Credit<img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/17.0.2/72x72/2122.png" alt="™" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /> will be issued as long as the flight is canceled at least 10 minutes prior to the scheduled departure. Transferable Flight Credits can be transferred between Rapid Rewards® Members. Only one transfer is permitted. Transferable Flight Credits expire based on fare type. For travel booked with Rapid Rewards points for Basic or Wanna Get Away Plus<img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/17.0.2/72x72/2122.png" alt="™" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /> reward travel reservations, if you do not cancel your reservation at least 10 minutes before the flight’s original scheduled departure time, any points used for booking will be forfeited, along with any taxes and fees associated with your reward travel reservation. For bookings made through a Southwest® Business channel, transfers are allowed only between employees within the organization.</p>



<p><strong>6 Refundable</strong></p>



<p>As long as you cancel your reservation at least ten (10) minutes prior to the scheduled departure of your flight, if you cancel, you’re eligible to receive 100% of your ticket value as a refund to your original form of payment. A Southwest flight credit from a previous reservation that is applied toward a Business Select or Anytime fare will be refunded as a Transferable Flight Credit. For travel booked with Rapid Rewards points, if canceled, points will be returned to the Rapid Rewards account holder who booked the ticket. For Anytime or Business Select® reward travel reservations: the points used for booking will be redeposited to the purchaser&#8217;s Rapid Rewards® account, and any taxes and fees associated with the reward travel reservation will be converted into a Transferable Flight Credit for future use.</p>



<p><strong>7 Changes</strong></p>



<p>If you need to change an upcoming flight itinerary, you’ll only pay the difference in fare for Wanna Get Away Plus®, Anytime and Business Select fares (if one applies). Failure to cancel a reservation at least 10 minutes prior to scheduled departure may result in forfeited travel funds.</p>



<p><strong>8 Cancellations</strong></p>



<p>All fares types are eligible for cancelations without a fee. For changes to a flight itinerary with Wanna Get Away Plus®, Anytime, and Business Select®, there is no fee, though a fare difference may apply. Failure to cancel a reservation at least 10 minutes prior to scheduled departure may result in forfeited travel funds.</p>



<p><strong>9 Free same-day change/standby</strong></p>



<p>Same-day change: On the day of travel, you can switch free of airline charges to another flight with space available departing on the same calendar day between the same origin airport and destination airport as your original flight.</p>



<p>Same-day standby: You can list for same-day standby on an earlier flight via a Southwest Customer Service Agent at the airport or the Southwest app or mobile web. You will receive a message based on the contact preference selected during booking if you are cleared on the flight.</p>



<p>For both same-day change and same-day standby, you must change your flight or request to be added to the same-day standby list at least 10 minutes prior to the scheduled departure of your original flight or the no-show policy will apply. If using the app or mobile web for standby, you must list your name 30 minutes ahead of scheduled departure. You will be required to pay any government taxes and fees associated with these itinerary changes but refunds will be provided. Your original boarding position is not guaranteed. Southwest Business Customers booked through travel agencies may need to see a Southwest Agent at the airport for both a same-day change or standby listing. <p><strong>10 EarlyBird Check-In®</strong></p>



<p>You will automatically be checked in to your flight 36 hours prior to scheduled departure. For Anytime fares purchased between 36 and 24 hours, the boarding position assignment process has begun so this may impact the boarding position assigned to you. If you purchase an Anytime fare within 24 hours of your flight’s scheduled departure, you will not receive the EarlyBird Check-In benefit. In an irregular operation situation, the boarding position is not guaranteed.</p>



<p><strong>11 Free Inflight entertainment</strong></p>



<p>Texting only allows access to iMessage and WhatsApp (which must be downloaded and activated before connecting to Southwest WiFi).</p>

<p><strong>WASHINGTON, D.C.</strong> &#8211; This weekend, Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Kristi Noem ceremoniously sworn-in Troy Edgar as the Deputy Secretary of DHS. Deputy Secretary Edgar was confirmed by the Senate on Thursday, March 7th, in a bipartisan vote. </p>



<p><em>“It is an honor to return to the Department,”</em> said Deputy Secretary Troy Edgar<em>. “I look forward to working alongside Secretary Noem and the dedicated men and women of DHS in our critical mission to keep Americans safe.&#8221; </em></p>



<p>Troy Edgar previously served during President Trump’s first term as Chief Financial Officer and Associate Deputy Under Secretary for Management at the Department of Homeland Security. In that role, he oversaw financial policy, modernization efforts, and the Department’s $90 billion budget, ensuring funding for critical immigration policies and border wall construction. </p>

<p><strong>WASHINGTON</strong> — Sunday, March 9, 2025, Secretary Kristi Noem announced new leadership to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to reinstitute a culture of results and accountability after four years of agency decay under the Biden Administration.</p>



<p>Secretary Noem issued the following statement:</p>

<p>&#8220;For the past four years, our brave men and women of ICE were barred from doing their jobs—ICE needs a culture of accountability that it has been starved of under the Biden Administration.</p>

<p>&#8220;With President Trump&#8217;s support, I am appointing new ICE leadership to deliver results that President Trump and the American people rightfully demand: Todd Lyons will serve as Acting ICE Director and Madison Sheahan as Deputy Director of ICE. Todd Lyons and Madison Sheahan are workhorses, strong executors, and accountable leaders who will lead the men and women of ICE to achieve the American people&#8217;s mandate to target, arrest and deport illegal aliens.&#8221;</p>

<p>Mr. Todd Lyons, a member of the Senior Executive Service, is the acting Executive Associate Director of ICE – Enforcement and Removal Operations. He was the former Assistant Director of Field Operations for ERO, overseeing all 25 Field Office and domestic operations across the United States.</p>



<p>Additionally, Mr. Lyons held the role of the Deputy Assistant Director of Western Operations and the Southwest Border. Previously, Mr. Lyons served as the Field Office Director (FOD) for Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO), U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Boston Field Office. As the FOD for the Boston Field Office, Mr. Lyons oversaw all ERO activities within the states of Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Vermont. Mr. Lyons also served as an Assistant Field Office Director (AFOD) in ERO Dallas from April 2015 to Sept 2017 and served as the Chief of Staff for the ERO Dallas Field Office Director from Aug 2014 to March 2015.</p>



<p>Mr. Lyons began his career in federal service with the United States Air Force in 1993. In August 1999, Mr. Lyons began his civilian law enforcement career in the State of Florida. In April 2007, Mr. Lyons joined ERO as an Immigration Enforcement Agent in Dallas, TX.</p>



<p>Ms. Madison D. Sheahan serves as the Secretary of the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, overseeing a $280 million budget and leading a team of over 800 employees across the wildlife, fisheries, and enforcement divisions. She established the Special Operations Group within the enforcement division to prioritize public safety cementing historic partnerships with federal, state and local law enforcement agencies for major events such as Mardi Gras and Super Bowl LIX. In this role, she also advises Governor Jeff Landry as a member of the state&#8217;s cabinet and Unified Command Group.</p>



<p>Prior to serving the State of Louisiana alongside Governor Jeff Landry, Madison worked for former South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem in various leadership positions. Including in the governor&#8217;s official office, the state republican party, and on special initiatives aimed at advancing the governors agenda. She played a major role in passing one of the strongest bills in the nation protecting women&#8217;s sports.</p>



<p>Madison is a proud graduate of The Ohio State University, where she earned a bachelor&#8217;s degree in public affairs, public management, leadership, policy, and agribusiness, with minors in community and business leadership.</p>

<p>Today, U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy announced the department has rescinded two memorandums issued during the Biden Administration which injected a social justice and environmental agenda into decisions for critical infrastructure projects.</p>



<p>In conflict with Congressional intent and the Administrative Procedure Act, the previous administration unilaterally released two separate memorandums, entitled &#8220;Policy on Using Bipartisan Infrastructure Law Resources to Build a Better America&#8221; and &#8220;Policy on Using Bipartisan Infrastructure Law Resources to Build a Better America.&#8221; These Biden-era memos displaced the long-standing authorities granted to States by law, and added meritless and costly burdens related to greenhouse gas emissions and equity initiatives.</p>



<p>Secretary Duffy said, &#8220;Under President Trump&#8217;s leadership, the Department of Transportation is getting back to basics — building critical infrastructure projects that move people and move commerce safely. The previous administration flouted Congress in an attempt to push a radical social and environmental agenda on the American people. This was an act of federal overreach. It stops now.&#8221;</p>



<p>The Department&#8217;s rescission memo affirms that these Biden-era policies have no basis in statute and have no role in DOT programs going forward.</p>

<p>The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) is alerting transit agencies that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) issued a recall notification on February 3, 2025, regarding certain New Flyer of America, Inc. (New Flyer) transit buses equipped with Cummins L9 diesel engines. The remote fuel filter hoses may separate from the fitting, causing a fuel leak, increasing the risk of a fire, and an engine stall, increasing the risk of a crash.</p>



<p>The recall affects approximately five New Flyer bus designs built in 2023 and 2024. </p>



<p>Cummins will replace the fuel hoses, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed by March 11, 2025.</p>

<li>Functions
<ol style="list-style-type:upper-alpha" class="wp-block-list">
<li>The Chief Transformation Officer (CTRO) (TS) is directly responsible to the Commissioner for carrying out the OT mission and for general providing supervision to the major components of OT.</li>



<li>The Deputy Chief Transformation Officer (DCTRO) (TS) assists the Chief Transformation Officer in carrying out his/her responsibilities and performs other duties the Chief Information Officer may prescribe. The Deputy Chief Transformation Officer serves as the Acting CTRO in the absence of the CTRO.</li>



<li>The Immediate Office of the Chief Transformation Officer (OCTRO) (TSA) provides the Chief Transformation Officer and the Deputy Chief Transformation Officer with management support on the full range of their responsibilities.</li>



<li>The Office of Customer Experience (OCX) (TSB) champions the needs and expectations of agency customers and the employees who serve them. Conducts comprehensive customer research and oversees the Voice of the Customer (VoC) program, ensuring that customer feedback is heard and reflected in all agency solutions. Implements mechanisms to collect and analyze customer feedback, identifying opportunities, pain points, and other insights to drive service improvement. Ensures people facing barriers, including those with disabilities, are well represented in research and valuation. Collaborates with other SSA offices and product teams to foster a customer-focused culture and practices using customer personas, journey maps and other deliverables.</li>



<li>The Office of Change Management (OCM) (TSC) provides management and oversight for strategic enterprise-level initiatives that require significant changes to business process, policy, and/or information technology. Provides guidance to SSA offices and coordinates with appropriate staff to develop, improve, and implement policies, business processes, and systems to better support employees and customers. Informs senior executives on initiative health, progress, and outcomes to ensure delivery on transformation objectives.</li>



<li>The Office of Experience Design (OXD) (TSE) leads design activities for agency products and solutions, ensuring that customer and employee interactions are seamless, effective, and accessible. Works with the Office of Customer Experience (OCX) to transform customer insights into actionable business strategies and solutions. Leverages service design, process improvement, user experience (UX) design, and accessible design methodologies to create customer-centered solutions that improve customer satisfaction and business efficiency. Sets and maintains design and content standards that guide all customer experiences across the agency.</li>

<p>When legacy mainstream media heard White House press secretary <strong>Karoline Leavitt</strong> mention yesterday that the U.S. Government was spending $8 MILLION on <strong>Politico</strong> subscriptions, they immediately went into &#8220;right-wing conspiracy theory&#8221; name-calling mode, claiming that wasn&#8217;t correct because what they heard in their head was &#8220;USAID was paying $8M on Politico subscriptions.&#8221;<br><br>Here&#8217;s the full clip:</p>

<p>In the <strong><a href="https://www.cnn.com/2025/02/05/media/politico-usaid-subscription-government/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">CNN version of the story</a></strong>, they stated that &#8220;All federal agencies combined spent $8.2 million last year on Politico Pro, according to USASpending.gov.&#8221;</p>



<p>So, as they say, we decided to follow the money to see what the numbers were. Assuming the data pull is correct, CNN was under by around $400,000 for 2024.</p>



<p>A quick search of <strong><a href="https://www.usaspending.gov/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">USAspending.gov</a></strong> shows that since 2015 the U.S. Government has sent <strong>$34,260,546</strong> to POLITICO, LLC (<a href="https://www.usaspending.gov/search/?hash=01ae05c7b20295749211d95880f18b13" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Recipient ID: T8JGE1LE8933</a>).</p>

<p>As a business, sure, subscriptions are an expense that you can take out, but we&#8217;re talking about the government AND taxpayer dollars here. And what&#8217;s <strong><a href="https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2025/feb/6/politico-millions-government-payments-subscription/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">reportedly a $12,000 &#8211; $15,000 base subscription cost</a></strong> for Politico Pro doesn&#8217;t even compare to the cost of a newspaper or magazine.</p>



<p>Our take at the moment is that this data seems cut and dry, and this is a strange hill for legacy media as a whole to die on. Unless, of course, this goes far beyond the budget of Politico, which may very well be the case. It would seem that we have more digging to do.</p>

<p>At the request of and in coordination with the family, the Army is releasing the name of the third Soldier who died while performing a training mission near Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport on Jan. 29.</p>



<p>Capt. Rebecca M. Lobach, of Durham, North Carolina, served as an aviation officer (15A) in the regular Army from July 2019 to January 2025. She has no deployments. She was assigned to the 12th Aviation Battalion, Ft Belvoir, Va. Her awards include the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Army Service Ribbon.</p>



<p>Our deepest condolences go out to her family, and all the families who are mourning the loss of their loved ones impacted by this devastating accident. We continue to work with the families of our fallen Soldiers and support the ongoing investigations.</p>



<p>The Army is also releasing the following statement on behalf of the family of Rebecca Lobach.</p>



<p><strong>STATEMENT FROM THE LOBACH FAMILY:</strong></p>



<p><em>We are devastated by the loss of our beloved Rebecca. She was a bright star in all our lives. She was kind, generous, brilliant, funny, ambitious and strong. No one dreamed bigger or worked harder to achieve her goals.</em></p>

<p><em>Rebecca began her career in the United States Army as a distinguished military graduate in ROTC at the University of North Carolina, and was in the top 20% of cadets nationwide. She achieved the rank of Captain, having twice served as a Platoon Leader and as a Company Executive Officer in the 12th Aviation Battalion, Davison Army Airfield, Fort Belvoir, Virginia. With more than 450 hours of flight time, she earned certification as a pilot-in-command after extensive testing by the most senior and experienced pilots in her battalion.</em></p>



<p><em>Rebecca was a warrior and would not hesitate to defend her country in battle. But she was as graceful as she was fierce: in addition to her duties as an Army aviator, Rebecca was honored to serve as a White House Military Social Aide, volunteering to support the President and First Lady in hosting countless White House events, including ceremonies awarding the Medal of Honor and the Presidential Medal of Freedom.</em></p>



<p><em>Rebecca cared about people, and she extended to individuals the same fearless defense she gave to this nation. She was proud of the difference she made as a certified Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) Victim Advocate and hoped to continue her education so she could serve this country as a physician when her time with the Army ended. She once said, &#8220;My experiences with SHARP have reinforced my resolve to serve others with compassion, understanding, and the resources necessary for healing.&#8221;</em></p>



<p><em>Rebecca was many things. She was a daughter, sister, partner, and friend. She was a servant, a caregiver, an advocate. Most of all, she loved and was loved. Her life was short, but she made a difference in the lives of all who knew her. Our hearts break for the other families who have lost loved ones in this national tragedy and we mourn with them.</em></p>

<p><strong>John Harold Rogers</strong>, 63, of Vienna, Virginia, a former Senior Adviser for the Federal Reserve Board of Governors (FRB), was arrested today on charges that he conspired to steal Federal Reserve trade secrets for the benefit of the People&#8217;s Republic of China (PRC).</p>



<p>In furtherance of the conspiracy, allegedly made false statements to the Office of Inspector General for the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (FRB-OIG), and those false statements had a material impact on its investigation.</p>



<p>“As alleged, the defendant violated the trust placed in him by the Federal Reserve Bank by putting U.S. trade secrets in&nbsp;the hands of his PRC co-conspirators, knowing full well that such information would benefit the PRC Government and PRC instrumentalities,” said Devin DeBacker, head of the Justice Department’s National Security Division. “The Justice Department will continue to use&nbsp;all the tools at its disposal to disrupt economic espionage and protect our national security.”</p>



<p>“President Trump tasks us with protecting our fellow Americans from all enemies, foreign and domestic. As alleged in the indictment, this defendant leveraged his position within the Federal Reserve to pass sensitive financial information to the Chinese government, a designated adversary,” said U.S. Attorney Edward R. Martin Jr. for the District of Columbia. “Let this indictment serve as a warning to all who seek to betray or exploit the United States: law enforcement will find you and hold you accountable.”</p>



<p>“As alleged in the indictment, Rogers betrayed his country while employed at the Federal Reserve by providing restricted U.S. financial and economic information to Chinese government intelligence officers,” said Assistant Director Kevin Vorndran of the FBI Counterintelligence Division. “This information could allow adversaries to illegally gain a strategic economic advantage at the expense of the U.S. This indictment sends a clear message that the FBI and our partners will hold accountable those who threaten our national security.”</p>



<p>“The Chinese Communist Party has expanded its economic espionage campaign to target U.S. government financial policies and trade secrets in an effort to undermine the United States and become the sole superpower,” said Assistant Director in Charge David Sundberg of the FBI Washington Field Office. “Today&#8217;s indictment represents the FBI’s unwavering commitment to protect U.S. national security interests and U.S. jobs and bring to justice those who are willing to betray their country for personal gain.”</p>



<p>“This indictment sends a clear message that those who deliberately misuse sensitive Federal Reserve information for their own personal gain and lie about it to investigators will be held accountable for their actions,” said Special Agent in Charge John T. Perez of the FRB-OIG, Headquarters Operations.</p>



<p>According to the indictment, Rogers, a U.S. citizen with a Ph.D. in economics, worked as a Senior Adviser in FRB’s Division of International Finance of the FRB from 2010 until 2021, where he was entrusted with confidential FRB information. The confidential information that Rogers allegedly shared with his Chinese co-conspirators, who worked for the intelligence and security apparatus of China and who posed as graduate students at a PRC university, is economically valuable when secret.</p>



<p>China holds a large amount of U.S. foreign debt (approximately $816 billion as of October 2024). The data Rogers shared with his co-conspirators could allow China to manipulate the U.S. market, in a manner similar to insider trading. Gaining advance knowledge of U.S. economic policy, including advance knowledge of changes to the federal funds rate, could provide China with an advantage when selling or buying U.S. bonds or securities.</p>



<p>The indictment alleges that, from at least 2018, Rogers allegedly exploited his employment with the FRB by soliciting trade-secret information regarding proprietary economic data sets, deliberations about tariffs targeting China, briefing books for designated governors, and sensitive information about Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) deliberations and forthcoming announcements. He passed that information electronically to his personal email account, in violation of FRB policy, or printed it prior to traveling to China, in preparation for meetings with his co-conspirators.</p>



<p>Under the guise of teaching “classes,” Rogers met with his co-conspirators in hotel rooms in China where he conveyed sensitive, trade-secret information that belonged to the FRB and the FOMC. In 2023, Rogers was paid approximately $450,000 as a part-time professor at a Chinese university.</p>



<p>On Feb. 4, 2020, in response to questioning by the FRB-OIG, Rogers lied about his accessing and passage of sensitive information and his associations with his co-conspirators.</p>



<p>Rogers is charged with conspiracy to commit economic espionage and with making false statements.</p>



<p>The FBI Washington Field Office and FRB-OIG are investigating the case.</p>



<p>Assistant U.S. Attorney Kimberly Paschall for the District of Columbia and Trial Attorneys Nicholas Hunter and Steve Marzen of the National Security Division’s Counterintelligence and Export Section are prosecuting the case.</p>



<p><em>An indictment is merely an allegation. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.</em></p>

<p><strong>WASHINGTON</strong> — A United States Army UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter crashed at approximately 9 p.m. while performing a training mission near Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, Jan. 29. There was a three-person crew on board the helicopter. The UH-60 helicopter from the 12th Aviation Battalion, Davison Army Airfield, Fort Belvoir, Va., collided in midair with an American Airlines Bombardier CRJ700 regional jet Flight 5342 at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. The FAA, NTSB and the United States Army are investigating. The NTSB will lead the investigation. We are working with local officials and will provide any additional information once it becomes available.</p>



<p>Staff Sgt. Ryan Austin O’Hara, 28, of Lilburn, Georgia, is believed to be deceased pending positive identification.</p>



<p>The remains of Chief Warrant Officer 2 Andrew Loyd Eaves, 39, of Great Mills, Maryland, have not yet been recovered, therefore is duty status-whereabouts unknown (DUSTWUN).</p>



<p>“Our deepest condolences go out to all the families and friends impacted during this tragedy, and we will support them through this difficult time. Our top priority is to assist in the recovery efforts, while fully cooperating with the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and other investigative agencies to determine the cause of this tragic incident,” said Maj. Gen. Trevor J. Bredenkamp, commander Joint Task Force – National Capital Region/ U.S. Army Military District of Washington.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">MAKE AMERICA SAFE AGAIN</h3>



<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>President Trump will take bold action to secure our border and protect American communities.</li>



<li>This includes ending Biden&#8217;s catch-and-release policies, reinstating Remain in Mexico, building the wall, ending asylum for illegal border crossers, cracking down on criminal sanctuaries, and enhancing vetting and screening of aliens.</li>



<li>President Trump&#8217;s deportation operation will address the record border crossings of criminal aliens under the prior administration.</li>



<li>The President is suspending refugee resettlement, after communities were forced to house large and unsustainable populations of migrants, straining community safety and resources.</li>



<li>The Armed Forces, including the National Guard, will engage in border security, which is national security, and will be deployed to the border to assist existing law enforcement personnel.</li>



<li>President Trump will begin the process of designating cartels, including the dangerous Tren de Aragua, as foreign terrorist organizations and use the Alien Enemies Act to remove them.</li>



<li>The Department of Justice will seek the death penalty as the appropriate punishment for heinous crimes against humanity, including those who kill law enforcement officers and illegal migrants who maim and murder Americans.</li>
</ul>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">MAKE AMERICA AFFORDABLE AND ENERGY DOMINANT AGAIN</h3>



<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>The President will unleash American energy by ending Biden&#8217;s policies of climate extremism, streamlining permitting, and reviewing for rescission all regulations that impose undue burdens on energy production and use, including mining and processing of non-fuel minerals.</li>



<li>President Trump&#8217;s energy actions empower consumer choice in vehicles, showerheads, toilets, washing machines, lightbulbs and dishwashers.</li>



<li>President Trump will declare an energy emergency and use all necessary resources to build critical infrastructure.</li>



<li>President Trump&#8217;s energy policies will end leasing to massive wind farms that degrade our natural landscapes and fail to serve American energy consumers.</li>



<li>President Trump will withdraw from the Paris Climate Accord.</li>



<li>All agencies will take emergency measures to reduce the cost of living.</li>



<li>President Trump will announce the America First Trade Policy.</li>



<li>America will no longer be beholden to foreign organizations for our national tax policy, which punishes American businesses.</li>
</ul>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">DRAIN THE SWAMP</h3>



<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>The President will usher a Golden Age for America by reforming and improving the government bureaucracy to work for the American people. He will freeze bureaucrat hiring except in essential areas to end the onslaught of useless and overpaid DEI activists buried into the federal workforce. He will pause burdensome and radical regulations not yet in effect that Biden announced.</li>



<li>President Trump is announcing an unprecedented slate of executive orders for rescission.</li>



<li>President Trump is planning for improved accountability of government bureaucrats. The American people deserve the highest-quality service from people who love our country. The President will also return federal workers to work, as only 6% of employees currently work in person.</li>



<li>President Trump is taking swift action to end the weaponization of government against political rivals and ordering all document retention as required by law. President Trump is also ending the unconstitutional censorship by the federal government. No longer will government employees pick and require the erasure of entirely true speech.</li>



<li>On the President&#8217;s direction, the State Department will have an America-First foreign policy.</li>
</ul>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">BRING BACK AMERICAN VALUES</h3>



<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>The President will establish male and female as biological reality and protect women from radical gender ideology.</li>



<li>American landmarks will be named to appropriately honor our Nation&#8217;s history.</li>

<p>THE PRESIDENT: Thank you. Thank you very much, everybody. (Applause.) Wow. Thank you very, very much.</p>



<p>Vice President Vance, Speaker Johnson, Senator Thune, Chief Justice Roberts, justices of the Supreme Court of the United States, President Clinton, President Bush, President Obama, President Biden, Vice President Harris, and my fellow citizens, the golden age of America begins right now. (Applause.)</p>



<p>From this day forward, our country will flourish and be respected again all over the world. We will be the envy of every nation, and we will not allow ourselves to be taken advantage of any longer. During every single day of the Trump administration, I will, very simply, put America first. (Applause.)</p>



<p>Our sovereignty will be reclaimed. Our safety will be restored. The scales of justice will be rebalanced. The vicious, violent, and unfair weaponization of the Justice Department and our government will end. (Applause.)</p>



<p>And our top priority will be to create a nation that is proud, prosperous, and free. (Applause.)</p>



<p>America will soon be greater, stronger, and far more exceptional than ever before. (Applause.)</p>



<p>I return to the presidency confident and optimistic that we are at the start of a thrilling new era of national success. A tide of change is sweeping the country, sunlight is pouring over the entire world, and America has the chance to seize this opportunity like never before.</p>



<p>But first, we must be honest about the challenges we face. While they are plentiful, they will be annihilated by this great momentum that the world is now witnessing in the United States of America.</p>



<p>As we gather today, our government confronts a crisis of trust. For many years, a radical and corrupt establishment has extracted power and wealth from our citizens while the pillars of our society lay broken and seemingly in complete disrepair.</p>



<p>We now have a government that cannot manage even a simple crisis at home while, at the same time, stumbling into a continuing catalogue of catastrophic events abroad.</p>



<p>It fails to protect our magnificent, law-abiding American citizens but provides sanctuary and protection for dangerous criminals, many from prisons and mental institutions, that have illegally entered our country from all over the world.</p>



<p>We have a government that has given unlimited funding to the defense of foreign borders but refuses to defend American borders or, more importantly, its own people.</p>



<p>Our country can no longer deliver basic services in times of emergency, as recently shown by the wonderful people of North Carolina — who have been treated so badly — (applause) — and other states who are still suffering from a hurricane that took place many months ago or, more recently, Los Angeles, where we are watching fires still tragically burn from weeks ago without even a token of defense. They&#8217;re raging through the houses and communities, even affecting some of the wealthiest and most powerful individuals in our country — some of whom are sitting here right now. They don&#8217;t have a home any longer. That&#8217;s interesting. But we can&#8217;t let this happen. Everyone is unable to do anything about it. That&#8217;s going to change.</p>



<p>We have a public health system that does not deliver in times of disaster, yet more money is spent on it than any country anywhere in the world.</p>



<p>And we have an education system that teaches our children to be ashamed of themselves — in many cases, to hate our country despite the love that we try so desperately to provide to them. All of this will change starting today, and it will change very quickly. (Applause.)</p>



<p>My recent election is a mandate to completely and totally reverse a horrible betrayal and all of these many betrayals that have taken place and to give the people back their faith, their wealth, their democracy, and, indeed, their freedom. From this moment on, America&#8217;s decline is over. (Applause.)</p>



<p>Our liberties and our nation&#8217;s glorious destiny will no longer be denied. And we will immediately restore the integrity, competency, and loyalty of America&#8217;s government.</p>



<p>Over the past eight years, I have been tested and challenged more than any president in our 250-year history, and I&#8217;ve learned a lot along the way.</p>



<p>The journey to reclaim our republic has not been an easy one — that, I can tell you. Those who wish to stop our cause have tried to take my freedom and, indeed, to take my life.</p>



<p>Just a few months ago, in a beautiful Pennsylvania field, an assassin&#8217;s bullet ripped through my ear. But I felt then and believe even more so now that my life was saved for a reason. I was saved by God to make America great again. (Applause.)</p>

<p>Thank you very much. (Applause.)</p>



<p>That is why each day under our administration of American patriots, we will be working to meet every crisis with dignity and power and strength. We will move with purpose and speed to bring back hope, prosperity, safety, and peace for citizens of every race, religion, color, and creed.</p>



<p>For American citizens, January 20th, 2025, is Liberation Day. (Applause.) It is my hope that our recent presidential election will be remembered as the greatest and most consequential election in the history of our country.</p>



<p>As our victory showed, the entire nation is rapidly unifying behind our agenda with dramatic increases in support from virtually every element of our society: young and old, men and women, African Americans, Hispanic Americans, Asian Americans, urban, suburban, rural. And very importantly, we had a powerful win in all seven swing states — (applause) — and the popular vote, we won by millions of people. (Applause.)</p>



<p>To the Black and Hispanic communities, I want to thank you for the tremendous outpouring of love and trust that you have shown me with your vote. We set records, and I will not forget it. I&#8217;ve heard your voices in the campaign, and I look forward to working with you in the years to come.</p>



<p>Today is Martin Luther King Day. And his honor — this will be a great honor. But in his honor, we will strive together to make his dream a reality. We will make his dream come true. (Applause.)</p>



<p>Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. (Applause.)</p>



<p>National unity is now returning to America, and confidence and pride is soaring like never before. In everything we do, my administration will be inspired by a strong pursuit of excellence and unrelenting success. We will not forget our country, we will not forget our Constitution, and we will not forget our God. Can&#8217;t do that. (Applause.)</p>



<p>Today, I will sign a series of historic executive orders. With these actions, we will begin the complete restoration of America and the revolution of common sense. It&#8217;s all about common sense. (Applause.)</p>



<p>First, I will declare a national emergency at our southern border. (Applause.)</p>



<p>All illegal entry will immediately be halted, and we will begin the process of returning millions and millions of criminal aliens back to the places from which they came. We will reinstate my Remain in Mexico policy. (Applause.)</p>



<p>I will end the practice of catch and release. (Applause.)</p>



<p>And I will send troops to the southern border to repel the disastrous invasion of our country. (Applause.)</p>



<p>Under the orders I sign today, we will also be designating the cartels as foreign terrorist organizations. (Applause.)</p>



<p>And by invoking the Alien Enemies Act of 1798, I will direct our government to use the full and immense power of federal and state law enforcement to eliminate the presence of all foreign gangs and criminal networks bringing devastating crime to U.S. soil, including our cities and inner cities. (Applause.)</p>



<p>As commander in chief, I have no higher responsibility than to defend our country from threats and invasions, and that is exactly what I am going to do. We will do it at a level that nobody has ever seen before.</p>



<p>Next, I will direct all members of my cabinet to marshal the vast powers at their disposal to defeat what was record inflation and rapidly bring down costs and prices. (Applause.)</p>



<p>The inflation crisis was caused by massive overspending and escalating energy prices, and that is why today I will also declare a national energy emergency. We will drill, baby, drill. (Applause.)</p>



<p>America will be a manufacturing nation once again, and we have something that no other manufacturing nation will ever have — the largest amount of oil and gas of any country on earth — and we are going to use it. We&#8217;ll use it. (Applause.)</p>



<p>We will bring prices down, fill our strategic reserves up again right to the top, and export American energy all over the world. (Applause.)</p>



<p>We will be a rich nation again, and it is that liquid gold under our feet that will help to do it.</p>



<p>With my actions today, we will end the Green New Deal, and we will revoke the electric vehicle mandate, saving our auto industry and keeping my sacred pledge to our great American autoworkers. (Applause.)</p>



<p>In other words, you&#8217;ll be able to buy the car of your choice.</p>



<p>We will build automobiles in America again at a rate that nobody could have dreamt possible just a few years ago. And thank you to the autoworkers of our nation for your inspiring vote of confidence. We did tremendously with their vote. (Applause.)</p>



<p>I will immediately begin the overhaul of our trade system to protect American workers and families. Instead of taxing our citizens to enrich other countries, we will tariff and tax foreign countries to enrich our citizens. (Applause.)</p>



<p>For this purpose, we are establishing the External Revenue Service to collect all tariffs, duties, and revenues. It will be massive amounts of money pouring into our Treasury, coming from foreign sources.</p>



<p>The American dream will soon be back and thriving like never before.</p>



<p>To restore competence and effectiveness to our federal government, my administration will establish the brand-new Department of Government Efficiency. (Applause.)</p>



<p>After years and years of illegal and unconstitutional federal efforts to restrict free expression, I also will sign an executive order to immediately stop all government censorship and bring back free speech to America. (Applause.)</p>



<p>Never again will the immense power of the state be weaponized to persecute political opponents — something I know something about. (Laughter.) We will not allow that to happen. It will not happen again.</p>



<p>Under my leadership, we will restore fair, equal, and impartial justice under the constitutional rule of law. (Applause.)</p>



<p>And we are going to bring law and order back to our cities. (Applause.)</p>



<p>This week, I will also end the government policy of trying to socially engineer race and gender into every aspect of public and private life. (Applause.) We will forge a society that is colorblind and merit-based. (Applause.)</p>



<p>As of today, it will henceforth be the official policy of the United States government that there are only two genders: male and female. (Applause.)</p>



<p>This week, I will reinstate any service members who were unjustly expelled from our military for objecting to the COVID vaccine mandate with full back pay. (Applause.)</p>



<p>And I will sign an order to stop our warriors from being subjected to radical political theories and social experiments while on duty. It&#8217;s going to end immediately. (Applause.) Our armed forces will be freed to focus on their sole mission: defeating America&#8217;s enemies. (Applause.)</p>



<p>Like in 2017, we will again build the strongest military the world has ever seen. We will measure our success not only by the battles we win but also by the wars that we end — and perhaps most importantly, the wars we never get into. (Applause.)</p>



<p>My proudest legacy will be that of a peacemaker and unifier. That&#8217;s what I want to be: a peacemaker and a unifier.</p>



<p>I&#8217;m pleased to say that as of yesterday, one day before I assumed office, the hostages in the Middle East are coming back home to their families. (Applause.)</p>

<p>America will reclaim its rightful place as the greatest, most powerful, most respected nation on earth, inspiring the awe and admiration of the entire world.</p>



<p>A short time from now, we are going to be changing the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America — (applause) — and we will restore the name of a great president, William McKinley, to Mount McKinley, where it should be and where it belongs. (Applause.)</p>



<p>President McKinley made our country very rich through tariffs and through talent — he was a natural businessman — and gave Teddy Roosevelt the money for many of the great things he did, including the Panama Canal, which has foolishly been given to the country of Panama after the United Spates — the United States — I mean, think of this — spent more money than ever spent on a project before and lost 38,000 lives in the building of the Panama Canal.</p>



<p>We have been treated very badly from this foolish gift that should have never been made, and Panama&#8217;s promise to us has been broken.</p>



<p>The purpose of our deal and the spirit of our treaty has been totally violated. American ships are being severely overcharged and not treated fairly in any way, shape, or form. And that includes the United States Navy.</p>



<p>And above all, China is operating the Panama Canal. And we didn&#8217;t give it to China. We gave it to Panama, and we&#8217;re taking it back. (Applause.)</p>



<p>Above all, my message to Americans today is that it is time for us to once again act with courage, vigor, and the vitality of history&#8217;s greatest civilization.</p>



<p>So, as we liberate our nation, we will lead it to new heights of victory and success. We will not be deterred. Together, we will end the chronic disease epidemic and keep our children safe, healthy, and disease-free.</p>



<p>The United States will once again consider itself a growing nation — one that increases our wealth, expands our territory, builds our cities, raises our expectations, and carries our flag into new and beautiful horizons.</p>



<p>And we will pursue our manifest destiny into the stars, launching American astronauts to plant the Stars and Stripes on the planet Mars. (Applause.)</p>



<p>Ambition is the lifeblood of a great nation, and, right now, our nation is more ambitious than any other. There&#8217;s no nation like our nation.</p>



<p>Americans are explorers, builders, innovators, entrepreneurs, and pioneers. The spirit of the frontier is written into our hearts. The call of the next great adventure resounds from within our souls.</p>



<p>Our American ancestors turned a small group of colonies on the edge of a vast continent into a mighty republic of the most extraordinary citizens on Earth. No one comes close.</p>



<p>Americans pushed thousands of miles through a rugged land of untamed wilderness. They crossed deserts, scaled mountains, braved untold dangers, won the Wild West, ended slavery, rescued millions from tyranny, lifted billions from poverty, harnessed electricity, split the atom, launched mankind into the heavens, and put the universe of human knowledge into the palm of the human hand. If we work together, there is nothing we cannot do and no dream we cannot achieve.</p>



<p>Many people thought it was impossible for me to stage such a historic political comeback. But as you see today, here I am. The American people have spoken. (Applause.)</p>



<p>I stand before you now as proof that you should never believe that something is impossible to do. In America, the impossible is what we do best. (Applause.)</p>



<p>From New York to Los Angeles, from Philadelphia to Phoenix, from Chicago to Miami, from Houston to right here in Washington, D.C., our country was forged and built by the generations of patriots who gave everything they had for our rights and for our freedom.</p>



<p>They were farmers and soldiers, cowboys and factory workers, steelworkers and coal miners, police officers and pioneers who pushed onward, marched forward, and let no obstacle defeat their spirit or their pride.</p>



<p>Together, they laid down the railroads, raised up the skyscrapers, built great highways, won two world wars, defeated fascism and communism, and triumphed over every single challenge that they faced.</p>



<p>After all we have been through together, we stand on the verge of the four greatest years in American history. With your help, we will restore America promise and we will rebuild the nation that we love — and we love it so much.</p>



<p>We are one people, one family, and one glorious nation under God. So, to every parent who dreams for their child and every child who dreams for their future, I am with you, I will fight for you, and I will win for you. We&#8217;re going to win like never before. (Applause.)</p>

<p>We will not be conquered, we will not be intimidated, we will not be broken, and we will not fail. From this day on, the United States of America will be a free, sovereign, and independent nation.</p>



<p>We will stand bravely, we will live proudly, we will dream boldly, and nothing will stand in our way because we are Americans. The future is ours, and our golden age has just begun.</p>
